Founded in 1996 by Michael Carter, the firm has been featured in Spectacular Homes of New England (book cover); Design New England (magazine cover feature); New England Home (magazine cover feature); Traditional Home Magazine (cover feature); and InStyle Magazine.
Whether the home is a 19th century Back Bay townhouse or a contemporary loft in Manhattan, Carter & Company approaches design with an eye towards classic good taste. With Michael Carter's guidance, the home is a synthesis of color, light, texture and form that visually and emotionally reflects the aesthetic and lifestyle of the owner. Confident and comfortable mixing the old with the new, Carter brings his love of architecture, art, antiques and timeless design to all of his projects.
"I believe that the design process is fundamentally about listening and respecting the client's wishes. Above all, it must ultimately be a place you love to come home to."
In 2016, Michael Carter was inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in interior design.
Paul Jackson heads one of Boston's finest and most sought after boutique construction firms. Noted architects and interior designers choose Jackson General Carpentry to collaborate with them on the restoration and renovation of homes throughout Boston's most exclusive neighborhoods—Beacon Hill, Back Bay, the South End—knowing that Jackson, who founded his firm in 1980, is a skilled master craftsman who will settle for nothing less than the best.
Jackson is a master builder, an expert in all stages of construction and equally capable of replicating intricate historic details, such as ornate plasterwork, marble flooring or carved mantels, or of creating original and exquisite elements for striking contemporary homes. He is adept at making the state-of-the art systems that define today's luxury homes seemingly invisible, whether hidden behind historic or modern finishes. He has restored magnificent single family mansions, renovated luxury condominiums, and remodeled Newbury Street retail and office buildings. Paul's superior workmanship, standard of excellence, and decades of project management experience have resulted in his clients' vision of a dream home come true.
